VEXTA
Visual EXtensible Text Architecture. A local-first research IDE where technical projects become structured, executable, reviewable, and ready to publish.
Overview
VEXTA brings Markdown, LaTeX, PDF, code, data, citations, review, and publishable outputs into one research workspace. It is designed around the full life of a project rather than a single document format.
Projects remain local by default. Editing, compilation, export, review, file management, and bounded AI-assisted workflows share one visible project structure.
Core workflow
- Work across Markdown, Quarto, notebooks, Typst, LaTeX, references, data, and research scripts.
- Edit source beside live Markdown and compiled PDF views.
- Review claims, comments, citations, and stale outputs inside the project context.
- Export research packages, documents, source archives, and publishable PDFs.
Current state
VEXTA supports local desktop workflows and a same-origin cloud runtime with persistent project storage, production login, project roles, and explicit data-transmission boundaries for provider-backed agent actions.
